Onward
Privacy Policy
Effective 4 September 2026. Onward is a private, invitation-only iOS app that supports executive function for a small group of invited users. It is not a commercial product, has no advertising, and is not funded by data.
What we collect
- Account email and password. Used only to sign you in. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider (Supabase); we never see them.
- Content you enter. Tasks, notes, brain-dump text, interests, focus sessions and timers. Stored so the app can show them back to you, on every device you sign in on.
- A push notification token, if you turn on focus-mode check-ins. Used only to deliver those check-ins to your device.
There is no advertising identifier, no location collection, no contacts access, and no analytics SDK.
How content is processed
Some features — task breakdown, brain-dump triage, and context-switch rituals — send the text you enter to our server, which forwards it to a large-language-model API (Anthropic) to generate structured suggestions. The model provider does not use this data to train models. Timers, the activity menu, and all notification scheduling run without it.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking across apps or websites, and no data broker relationships.
- No sale or sharing of personal data. The only third parties involved are the infrastructure named here: Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (language model), and Apple (push notification delivery).
- No profiling, scoring, or judgement of your behaviour is shared with anyone.
Retention and deletion
Your content is kept for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app: Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible, and removes your account record, tasks, notes, sessions, and scheduled notifications. You may also email us and we will do it for you.
Children
Onward is not directed at children and accounts are issued only to adults.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who it is shared with, the effective date above will change and account holders will be told by email.
